“We came to the Hidden Retreat with our two young children for family vacation.
We were greeted with a card, a lovely bottle of rose, and delicious biscotti.
The house is beautiful and relaxing, with a great view down the hill to the port and
gorgeous sunrises if you're up early enough. The well-equipped kitchen
leading out to the deck makes outdoor dining easy, and the kids loved roasting
marshmallows over the outdoor fire. We also appreciated the games and books
- there's something for everyone. Emma was responsive and helpful throughout our stay.

About your hosts
Hello there, this is Emma & Adam, your hosts at the Hidden Retreat! We are a French-American married couple spending time exploring the outdoors, playing with our husky Slayer, cooking and tasting good wines!
The beginning of the Hidden Retreat
Adam went to college at Stony Brook and always dreamt about having a house on the North Shore. So Emma set up alerts for houses in the area on Zillow. One year later, Emma's phone vibrated and the house appeared in the notifications! We fell in love with our lovely cottage and the village of Port Jefferson instantly, we knew we had to have it!
Emma wanted to give the Hidden Retreat a calming and relaxing vibe, a place where you would instantly feel at peace, a sanctuary from your burdens. She chose a neutral color palette, natural materials such as wool, jute, rattan, wood and cotton along with Fair Trade furnitures. A serene atmosphere for your next getaway!
What makes the Hidden Retreat unique
Well, well, where to begin?! The peacefulness that the house brings with its all-white interiors and its remote access through public stairs. The amount of natural light going through the large windows upstairs and the floor to ceiling windows in the Master Bedroom! The sunrise colors from the upper deck facing East to the sunset colors over
the Marina...The birds singing all day long and the deers crossing
the property… and of course the proximity to Port Jefferson Village within walking distance.
